DIRECTORY OF DISABLED PEOPLES’ ORGANISATIONS (DPO) AND SERVICE PROVIDERS IN DISABILITY AND REHABILITATION
IN THE NORTH WEST REGION OF CAMEROON
COMPILED BY: BCCSDR
This initiative is first of its kind in the North West Region of Cameroon. Though the list is not exhaustive it is a bold step towards establishing a comprehensive list of all Disabled Peoples’ Organizations and rehabilitation service providers in the North West Region of Cameroon.
This directory was compiled by the Bamenda Coordinating Center for Studies in Disability and Rehabilitation (BCCSDR) in partnership with the Cameroon Working Group-University of Toronto Canada and the International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation (ICDR) Toronto Canada
The aim of this Directory is to have a comprehensive list of Disabled Peoples’ Organizations (DPOs) and rehabilitation Service Providers in the area of disability and rehabilitation in the Region, in order that people with disabilities, volunteers, students, rehabilitation and development workers and all those interested in the area of disability and rehabilitation can have an idea of what is happening on the ground, and together we can harness our resources to improve on the quality of life of persons with disabilities.
The information in this directory was furnished to us by the organizations concerned. A was distributed to organizations to complete and return to the Centre. The BCCSDR is still receiving these forms and will continue to update as we have more information. ,If your organization did not receive the form and would like to be listed in the next edition, please come to the Centre and fill out the form. The next edition of the Directory will be published in December 2010, and information needs to be to at Centre by September 2010
We are grateful to all the organizations that completed the forms and returned them to the Centre. Thanks to them, this directory is a reality.
The Cameroon Baptist Convention is an important player in the field of disability issues due to its long years of experience working with and for people with disabilities in the North West Region of Cameroon.
